Custom Secondary Heat Recovery Systems

Kono Kogs builds custom heat recovery systems to meet your specific heat recovery goals.  We can transfer heat from airstreams to heat water, air, oil or steam based on your needs. We will design and provide ROI calculations for your specific project to allow you to make an informed decision. Turnkey installation is available as well, always with the goal of minimal downtime.

With natural gas prices expected to continue rising, Kono Kogs is your source for secondary heat recovery from your thermal oxidizer. Clean airstreams with temperatures exceeding 300F usually offer an acceptable return on investment (ROI) for heat recovery projects.

Spotlight: Heat Recovery System—Cooling Coil

The system shown in the attached photos is a cooling coil recently delivered to a metal coating client. The cooling coil was installed prior to a VOC rotary concentrator system. VOC concentrators require entering temperatures below 100F to perform properly. The waste heat drawn from this airstream was utilized to pre-heat water for a washing process on the same production line. Kono Kogs sourced the coil, designed and fabricated the coil housing, provided PLC controls, dampers, temperature and pressure monitoring/controls, insulation and cladding, along with pre-wiring, and pre-piping.

How Can We Help?

Each heat recovery project is unique, so contact us to discuss the feasibility of the project, or request a quote and send us a summary of the project. Here is how it works:

  1. We may give you a little homework to ensure we have all the specs and desired goals.
  2. Your airstream temperatures along with a flow diagram/P&ID will be helpful as well.
  3. Once we know those details we can perform a quick analysis to determine viability.
